Relatives of Kano blast dead victims spoke about the tragedy of
losing their beloved family members, so as the survivors narrated their
ordeal.
Speaking with Daily Trust about the Monday
attack on Kano School of Hygiene, which claimed at least 8 lives, Mallam
Danlandi Kunchi said his child had gone there just to collect his
admission letter when the explosion rocked the institution.
The devastated parent was quoted saying:
"May
Allah forgive my son and may He expose those who killed him. My son
wanted to become a medical doctor but when he could not get admission to
a university he enrolled in this school."
Another man identified as Harisu Lawal said his relation Najib Abdullahi was also in the school to collect his admission letter.
Mourning the death of his brother Rabiu, Ibrahim Musa described his passing as the will of Allah.
It
would be recalled that those who survived the dire attack, reportedly
20 people, were immediately rushed to the Murtala Mohammad Specialist
Hospital. Some of the victims spoke with newsmen describing how it all
happened.
Shehu Abdullahi Rano said:
"I’m a student but
we are on break so I accompanied my friend to the school. It while he
was waiting to collect admission that the incident happened."
Another victim, Sani, was quoted saying:
"We
are praying to God to change the thinking of those people who are doing
these things in order to understand that what they are doing is wrong."
Meanwhile
Kano State governor Rabi'u Kwankwaso paid a sympathy visit to the
school after the incident and claimed that the government would pay for
the medical bills of those hospitalized.
