A man named Sikiru Mustapha has been arrested by police in Lagos for allegedly brutalizing his 4 year old son named Lekan before abandoning him at a bus station in the Iwaya area of Yaba, Lagos.

According to a report by Punch, a neighbour saw the boy with scars of torture on his back at the bus stop and took him to an NGO. The police was called and the boy's father was arrested.

Neighbours said the man and the boy's mother were no longer together and he had a new wife who just had a new baby for him. They said Lekan's father was in the habit of beating him mercilessly at the slightest provocation, not minding that he was a very young boy. The boy is currently receiving treatment at the hospital while his father has been charged to court for aggravated assault on a child.
