Award winning Nigerian pop artiste, Davido, has revealed how he got the inspiration that led to his first hit song, ‘Dami Duro’.
Davido spoke during the third edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference, which took place on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at the Eko Hotel and Suites.
The ‘Aye’ singer, who teamed up with Shizzi (his producer) to produce a song live on stage, explained how his encounter with the Police inspired him to record the song, ‘Dami Duro.’
“The day I made Dami Duro, I had just come out from the Police station, most of all the songs I do are from the things that happen to me and inspire me in the society.”
‘Dami Duro’, was the song that paved the way for the Osun State-born singer, and was very well-received throughout Nigeria and beyond after it’s release in 2011.
Since then he has gone on to release more singles such as ‘Gobe’, ‘One of a Kind’, ‘Skelewu’, ‘Aye’, ‘Tchelete (Goodlife)’, ‘Naughty’ and ‘Owo Ni Koko,’ all of which are expected to make up his upcoming album.
