Miracle: Mum and baby rescued alive 4 days after plane crash in the jungle

A mother and her infant son who disappeared in a plane crash in the dense jungles of northwestern Colombia for several days ago were found alive and well in what authorities called a miracle.

Nelly Murillo, 18, and her son Yudier Moreno, not yet one year old, were discovered near the site where the Cessna 303 crashed on Saturday June 20th in thick brush. They were found four days later.
"It’s a miracle. It is a very wild area and it was a catastrophic accident,” said Colonel Hector Carrascal, commander of the Colombian Air Force in Antioquia department.

“His mother’s spirit must have given him strength to survive,” he said of the baby.
The Cessna 303 light aircraft was seen on June 24, 2015, after it crashed during a flight from Nuqui to Quibdo, Choco department in Colombia a few days earlier.

Murillo and her son were taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, said Carrascal, adding that he was stunned they were alive.
“The lady has wounds and minor burns and apparently the child is unharmed,” the Colombian Air Force said in a statement.
The plane’s pilot, Captain Carlos Mario Ceballos, died in the crash and rescuers found his body in the aircraft.

They discovered the doors of the plane ajar and suspected that survivors may have climbed out.
A 14-person search-and-rescue team scoured the dense forest for several days before finding the mother and child.
The rescue team was on the last day of its work when the mother and child appeared near the site of the crash, Carrascal said.

The plane offered air taxi services between remote areas in northwest Colombia. It was traveling between Nuqui and Quibdo when it was declared missing, authorities said.
Investigators are trying to find the cause of the crash.

Man kills mother of his son in Lagos, turns himself in

Michael David, a 31-year-old from Delta state reportedly murdered his wife then and reported himself to the police after he confessed to the killing, stating that his actions was the handiwork of the devil.

The suspect was involved in a fight with the victim, Oyinyechi Dennis, when he allegedly stabbed her to death at Ojoku area of Lagos.

It was learned that Michael, a carpenter, was spreading untrue rumours about his wife which led to a confrontation between two.

He narrated what happened on the said day.
“Oyinye is the mother of my son, although I did not marry her legally but when she became pregnant for me, I went to her aunty and uncle who she was living with for introduction.
’We then started living together. But we had a misunderstanding and then she packed out of my house.
“On Tuesday morning, Onyinye came to my house, I thought she just came to visit me but I later saw her mood and knew something was wrong. She confronted me with an issue she heard. She said I was spreading rumour about her living a wayward life style and not sleeping at home.
‘’She asked me if I was behind the rumour and I told her yes, that I had noticed it since she left my place.
‘’Out of anger, she picked up a bottle, broke it and threatened to deal with me and we began to fight. While we were fighting, I overpowered her and took the broken bottle from her. She rushed again to where the knife was and picked the knife.
‘’Out of anger, I collected the knife from her and mistakenly stabbed her in the stomach with the knife, shortly after she died.
“After my action, I sat for sometime thinking of what to do, whether to run away or go to the police station to report myself. I then decided to report myself at Tolu Divisional Police Station.
A sister to the deceased who gave her name as Chika, claimed that the issue that led to her sister’s death started since the victim moved back to the family house.
She explained:
“When Onyinye moved her things back to the house. I asked her what was wrong, and she said nothing, that she does not want to continue leaving with Michael.
“Even a week before this incident, when Michael came to visit his son in the family house, immediately he entered, Onyinye walked out of the house. But I was surprised when he called me on Tuesday to inform me that Onyinye is dead and that he was at the police station.
‘’I immediately rushed down to the police station to find out if it was true and that was where I heard the whole story.
“What was even more surprising is the fact that on that same day,  after the incident, he called one of our neighbours to tell my other sister to bring his son which she did but after sometime, he returned the boy.
‘’Maybe he was thinking of running away with his son but God did not give him the courage to do so. All I just desire now is for the police to complete investigation into the matter and let the law deal with him accordingly

LASTMA official assaults bus driver in Lagos (photos)

A LIB reader witnessed the assault of a bus driver in Lagos today and tells the story. Read below...
It happened that the bus I took from Ojota to Obanikoro was stopped at Idiroko by LASTMA officers which the guy begged them that he should be pulled over to the other lane but because the officers wanted to enter into the bus, he (Onah. M) in the attached picture started punching the driver till blood came out of his mouth.
We the passengers appeal to them to allow the guy parked so we could drop but one of the Police officer attached to them forced the passenger side off and climb from the back sit to the driver side. (attached picture)
Lots of people stopped and even an Army officer dropped from his car to tell the LASTMA officers to stop beating the drivers but one of them told him to just go and mind his business, which he left immediately.
Am not saying the Danfo drivers are saints but LASTMA guys should be able to get better way of arresting offenders than forcing or beating or even threatening to shoot a gun at the offenders.

What would you do if a police woman sat on your Range Rover like this? Lol

Oh boy...this is not funny at all...lol.
