Obasanjo Blasts Jonathans Administration Over Economy Because Of A Text Message

Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has taken a swipe on the economic situation in the country under President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration, declaring that Nigerians are back to the late dictator, General Sani Abacha where the middle class was non-existent .
Obasanjo said the prevailing economic situation in the country has shown clearly that the middle-class had been destroyed .
The former President stand this over the weekend when a group of traders visited him at his Hilltop home in Abeokuta .
Obasanjo who disclosed that he received a text message which he said shocked him, saying, a middle class Nigerian requesting for financial assistance from him.
According to him, We will keep going and we will survive this though time. I told him we have experience this period in time of Abacha, all the middle class were completely destroyed.
I was surprised the day a colonel in the Army came to me complaining that he and his family could not afford to buy a car.
A friend of mine, Dr. Okoro, a medical doctor, his wife, also a medical doctor and theirdaughter, who is also a medical doctor, between the three of them, they could not afford a new car, they had to go to Saudi Arabia, but, I pray we will not have such a time in Nigeria.
We have to be at alert, to be forewarned is to be forearmed, if we will get ourselves out of the immorals we find ourselves in, it has to be done by each and everyone of us. We all have contribution to make and should not leave our responsibility on other for us to do. If we fail to participate in things that are meaningfully positive for this country, you will be a victim and we all become victims.
As for me, we dont know where we are going yet, may God Show us the way, the way that will take this country and make it a great country, and when, for me ooo, I understand and I see the way, I will tell you, I pray that God will show me the way, may God show you the way, Obasanjo said .
The National President of the NigerianMarket/Traders Council, Osho, said the visit was meant to get the direction of the former president on the 2015
election.
She said the council had tremendous support of the former President during his eight year rule as such, we deem it necessary and as a mark of respect to come and find out on which direction we are going.

Lagos Landlords Wont Rent Their House To Me Because I Am A Single Lady

I have been actively house hunting for over 3 months, ever since I decided to expand my thriving business. I work from home. No success yet getting a place because I am single. I get asked very silly questions ‎like where is your husband?
Why does a single girl want a 3 bedroom?  To be single and aspiring to rent anything more than a room self contain is a crime, I suppose. Landlords, turn me back immediately I say single. They claim single girls are promiscuous and loose. What haven't I heard?

The height of it was today when I went to inspect something perfect o! Landlord decided to conduct an interview. I sat, facing 3 men, and the first question was, are you married? It was almost simultaneously. I just sighed. They would rather have a single man.

This is not fair! ‎Has anyone been in my shoes? A friend told me to wear engagement ring and lie the next time I see a potential landlord.

Please if any landlord with 2/3bed house available to rent won't mind a single girl as Tenant. I mind my damn business and have no friends''

Boy Dies After Participating in the FaceBook Fire Challenge

A 15-year-old boy has died after participating in a game that is circulating on the popular social network FaceBook. James Shores was burned to death after his entire body was engulfed in flames.

The #FireChallenge involves covering your body with an accelerant and setting yourself on fire. One’s friends will then video the act and share it on the internet. The imbecilic act is supposed to elicit laughter as onlookers and internet viewers watch the reaction from the party who is on fire.

Shores doused himself with alcohol and was set ablaze by his friends. Those who participate in this “game,” usually do so inside of the shower in case the fire spreads. In Shores case, he was not near the shower or any other water source. His friends battled unsuccessfully to put the fire out, and he later died from his injuries.

Police are warning participators about the dangers of this act and have urged the public to stop sharing the videos.

Police Commissioner James Daniels spoke with News-Two saying, “We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and offer our condolences to the family. It is paramount that the public stop sharing these videos. The people who participate in this so-called “game” do so for the notoriety and short-lived fame they receive on the internet. Taking away this fame could deter others from making the same mistake.”
FaceBook is doing their part by deleting all #FireChallege videos off of their website.

'I regret exposing my body earlier in my career' - Toyin Aimakhu!

Actress Toyin Aimakhu-Johnson who recently signed her first endorsement deal, says she regrets exposing her body earlier in her career. Speaking with Encomium mag, the actress said changing her image and dress sense has changed her fortune...and partially blamed her old ways of dressing as the reason she didn't get any endorsement deals until now.
"I have learnt my lesson. People don't like those who expose their bodies in public. Celebrities can do it abroad but it is alien to our own culture. I was young and carefree and had nobody to caution me. It took my husband to enlighten me and make me see my mistakes. He helped me to realize I am a role model and have influence on my fans. I have realized these things now and it has helped me to have mature and quality fans who now show more interest in my personality and works. I now encourage other people. Ever since then, my fortune has changed. I now have quality jobs and offers. I want to model my life after Omotola and Joke Sylvia whom I see as my role model" she said.

The 44-year-old pop star also donned a brown shrug over what appeared to be a belly dancing inspired outfit.
The Hero hitmaker wore a sunflower tucked in her long flowing hair, as she posed next to a table set with potted blossoms.
She captioned the image: ‘Happy independence day!!! We miss you ARC.’
Shortly after, Mariah tweeted a second image posed in the same outfit while climbing a flight of stairs, with her three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan ahead of her in their pajamas.
The mother-of-two wrote: ‘Mommy migrates from the party to club Roc & Roe!’
Despite being every inch the doting mother, Mariah didn’t always want children according to The Huffington Post, and only changed her mind later in life.
Mariah’s husband Nick Cannon, 33, recently sang his wife’s praises, telling the publication: ‘It’s kind of cool I got a chance to bring that side out of my wife, because she’s so nurturing and amazing.
‘Not only does she get to be the biggest global singer in the world, but she also gets to be a wonderful mom.’
Furthermore, Mariah’s children may be following in her famous footsteps.
After all, Monroe and Moroccan are featured on her fourteenth studio album, which debuted in May, called: Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.
‘It’s a song that I wrote with Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri. There’s a part that Jermaine says on the song that [the kids] loved, and Monroe started to say it,’ Mariah told People in February.
‘I kept having to get my iPhone and record her. So I have all these different takes of her saying things, singing things. Then I’d be like, “This is your new ad lib — learn it!” I have to make it fun for her.’

What Chinese Explorers Found Under Nigerian Waters [LOOK]

Chinese scientific research ship Dayang Yihao, or Ocean One, has returned to east China harbour, almost four months after it completed a nine-day exploration of Nigeria’s waters with Nigerian and Chinese scientists.nn
The research team, with 15 Nigerians and 66 Chinese crew conducted research mainly on the western part of Nigerian waters, said Captain Cao Yezheng.
Back in China, the team has flaunted some of the things found under Nigeria’s water.
Among them a rare crab specie and an undersea rock, shown above.

It was the first time for a Chinese research team to lead an operation in an African country’s exclusive economic zone.
“It is a groundbreaking voyage in terms of boosting marine cooperation between the two countries,” said Li Bo, an official with the China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association, organizer of the expedition.
The mission will help both sides better understand the underwater landscape and fishery conditions in the area, Captain Cao Yezheng said.
The expedition started in April. After setting sail from Sanya in south China’s Hainan province, the ship sailed 38,000 nautical miles through the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Guinea.
The 245-day voyage allowed researchers to study biological diversity in hydrothermal areas in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time, which will provide valuable information for future biological and geological studies, chief expedition scientist Tao Chunhui said.

The Ocean One is China’s only open-ocean vessel designated and equipped for deep sea research.
“We were able to understand the water chemistry, understand the sea channel, the fishery condition and some other areas that needed to be touched,” Cao had said at a brief reception in Lagos, attended by Dr. Liu Xianfa, consul general of China in Lagos.
Also speaking, Emmanuel A. Ajao, the acting executive director of Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR) said the successful scientific joint research program will benefit both of the two countries and the world.

Ebola Alert! Nigeria records 2 deaths, 9 cases

By Sola Ogundipe & Chioma Obinna
LIKE wild Harmattan fire, the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) continued to spread yesterday across the globe with Nigeria recording two more cases and the World Health Organisation (WHO) declaring a global health emergency.
Coming on a day President Goodluck Jonathan approved a N1.9 billion special fund to combat the disease, the Federal Government said it has confirmed two more cases of EVD bringing the total number of cases in Nigeria to to nine.

President Goodluck Jonathan approved a N1.9 billion special fund to combat Ebola
Meanwhile, President Jonathan has summoned  the ministers of Health and Information  to brief him on the EVD situation in the country.
Disclosing this development yesterday during a media briefing in Lagos, Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu said the total of confirmed EVD cases in the country is now nine. Two of which are deceased while 139 others are under surveillance.
Chukwu who briefed the press in the company of the Minster of Information , Mr Labaran Maku and Director of the National Center for Diseases Control, NCDC, Prof Abdulsalami Nasidi among other top functionaries, said all confirmed cases were being managed in Lagos under quarantine.
Giving the current status of the outbreak, Chukwu said; “Since the last time I addressed you on Tuesday when I informed the global community that Nigeria has confirmed seven cases of Ebola Virus Disease, between then and today we have additional two confirmed cases.
“The total now is nine confirmed cases of which two are late. They are the same two we told you about earlier, the index case and the health worker who we unfortunately lost some days ago.  So as at this morning, total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria stands at nine. Eight are Nigerian and one was an American – Liberian. Seven are alive and receiving treatment in Lagos. “
28.5% case fertility
The Minister affirmed that so far Nigeria’s case fertility rate is 28.6 percent.  “In the ECOWAS region, the case fertility rate stands at 55 percent which means 46 percent of people who have suffered Ebola are alive and living witnesses. I want to reiterate again that in the last 48 hours we have confirmed two additional  EVD cases here in Nigeria . They are Nigerians and are people who have had contact with the index case and as at today our fatality is two.
“ We do not want anybody to be lost. They are surviving and we are treating them here in Lagos. There are more suspected cases. We will let the media know the result of these suspected cases that we are currently monitoring,” Chukwu remarked.
Assuring Nigerians that having Ebola does not mean being confined to death because there are survivors he said  almost half of those affected in West Africa are survivors.
“As we talk,  we have suspected cases being investigated. But we only announce confirmed cases. Sometimes they turn out to be negative sometimes we have a few who are positive as we experienced between Tuesday and today. All those we have placed under surveillance are 139 now. This is the update in our statistics. “
FG/states joint efforts
Chukwu who told the press that he was in Lagos with his team to assess the level of progress on the containment efforts of the Joint Federal and state Task Force on the EVD, said there had been several hours of productive meeting with other officials of the Lagos state involved in the response.
“They have shared experience of how they have been able to contain this disease even with two international experts.”
He said the process was a high risk job but many persons had volunteered to protect the nation.
“ We learned about some of their challenges and agreed on what to do right away. We learned about the things they want government to do and we have the resources.”
On the assessment of outcome of their findings, the minister said: “It has been a good lesson for myself as well as the Minister of Information. We have learned a lot even beyond what they have told us about what they are doing.”
Hot water and salt bath is no cure
Chukwu who expre-ssed satisfaction at the current response efforts, however described as unfortunate comments being circulated by some people that hot water with salt will cure Ebola Virus Disease.
“This is a complete lie and total fallacy and a wicked rumour. We want the rumour to be debunked. There is no evidence to support it, there is no truth in it. Absolutely it is total rubbish, it doesn’t make sense that when you pour water on yourself and add salt, it will stop Ebola. If anything you are going to have other problems.  “Let us manage EVD, do not give us communicable disease please. I’m going to go back and discuss with the appropriate authorities and look at our laws,” he warned.
He said the Federal government needed to fish out and prosecute the people responsible. “I believe Nigeria has laws against people like these. If there’s are no laws we would work towards making these laws. People who do not wish us well must be fished out and punished through the law courts.
“It is not right to complicate matters for this country. We have a problem, we had an imported case for which now we are suffering the complications.”
While admitting the grave challenge of tackling the Ebola threat, the minster, however, said government was not resting on its oars.
“ Government is doing everything possible with all its development partners. Even while we are here, The US government is being represented by the Consul General, who reiterated the pledge of the US government to give additional assistance to Nigeria to combat the Ebola virus with other partners such as WHO, UNICEF and USAID.
“Even President Jonathan is on top of the situation. The first thing he did on his return from Washington was to summon the Minister of Health,  who incidentally was in Lagos, So he invited the Minister of state for Health, the Permanent Secretary and the Chief Technologists of the Federation since they are in Abuja.
He said Mr President had directed him and his information counterpart to immediately report to the Presidency the outcome of their findings in Lagos, as soon they returned to Abuja.
“Government is not sparing any effort . He the government had approved money based on the request of the Federal Ministry of Health for the provision of additional materials to wage this battle against Ebola Virus Disease. The money is also to employ more people. One of the challenges is getting volunteers and all manner of health workers. We need doctors, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, those who will do administration, security and all those who can volunteer.
We will train you. You will be part of this. The government through the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, yesterday approved a number of new positions empowering the  Federal Ministry of Health to do emergency recruitment of necessary personnel to be part of this battle,” he said.
He disclosed that Federal government has declared that all those participating in the care of Ebola Virus Disease patients and those participating in contact tracing should enjoy life insurance provided by government

I Started The Salt & Water Ebola Cure Rumor I Truely Am Sorry – by Adesewa (Nairaland)
My confession and apology
Dear Nigerians and everyone who have heard of the ebola Prevention “News”, My name is Adesewa, I am coming out clean because what started has a joke has escalated into the unprecedented.
How it started
Yesterday i was with friend in her hostel, we were talking about this Ebola out break, when one of my friends, Funke (she introduced me to NL) brought the idea of Us playing a prank on our friends. The first suggestion was to tell people that aloe very could cure Ebola, but we thought it would sound too ridiculous so we forgot about it.
Later that even an idea came to me (i now regret that i did it).
I decided to send a BBM broadcast message to my friends, telling them that the Ministry of Health has asked everyone to bathe with salt and warm water and drink some of it.
I sent the message 7:08pm yesterday
Later this midnight i started getting calls and messages that i should drink salt water and bath with it.
All efforts to tell people that i was the one who started the joke failed. Only my friends who i mentioned earlier believed me. Even my mum called me this morning, i did not know what to tell her.
I am using this medium to beg you all to warn and tell everyone, before they drink salt and damage their health.
Please dont be hash on me. I know this has gone out of hand. I never knew it will be this serious. Some have even added to the original message i sent.
According to her, She’s a student of Federal University of Technology, Akure

12 Ebola Questions You’ve Been Asking Answered (RECORDING)

To sort fact from doomsday fiction, we consulted current and former CDC members and infectious disease experts including Dr. Ron Behrens, of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and Amesh Adalija an infectious disease physician at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Here are answers to common burning questions.
Where does the name “Ebola” come from?
The virus is named after the Ebola River in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That’s where the virus was discovered in 1976.

If there’s no vaccine or cure, what are doctors doing to treat Ebola patients?
For now, all doctors can do is treat the symptoms and provide supportive care like monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing while making sure the patients’ fluids are replenished. Sometimes patients are given antibiotics to treat other possible infections. The hope is to sustain the patient through the infection so their immune system can eventually clear the virus. This is harder to achieve in rural health systems in West Africa that are tasked with treating thousands of patients with insufficient resources.
How do some people recover if there’s no cure?
When the body is infected with a virus, it starts creating antibodies to attack it. The people who survive Ebola—or any virus—have created enough antibodies to neutralize it.
I hear you can only get Ebola through direct contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids. Does that mean you need to have an open wound or something?
A wound, sure, but the skin can also have micro abrasions you can’t see. Additionally, the virus can get into your body through your eyes and mouth if those areas come into contact with something that contains the bodily fluids of an infected person. That’s why health care workers are supposed to keep themselves completely covered while treating patients. The doctors and health care workers in West Africa are working in rural clinics, where the proper protections are scarce. Infected people may be quarantined with other people infected with the disease, making this kind of contact easier.
Since the virus has a two-to-21-day incubation period, can you get the disease from someone who doesn’t have symptoms?
No. The CDC says people who are not symptomatic are not contagious.
Can Ebola spread through sweat?
Yes, the virus can be present in sweat.
What about sex?
Sure, though sex while infected with Ebola seems unlikely. In past Ebola outbreaks, men who survived the disease were told to refrain from sex or use condoms for about three months after recovery because the virus can be present in semen.
Why is there no vaccine or drug for Ebola?
There are several promising drugs and vaccines in development, but since Ebola is less common—and research about it is not well funded—there is no drug or vaccine that has been approved for use in humans. One experimental serum was used by the two American patients, but there’s not enough for widespread use yet. Many of the other drugs and vaccines have not yet been tested in humans. The WHO is meeting next week to discuss whether experimental treatments should be used during this outbreak.
What does the virus do to the human body?
The virus is systemic. That means it can move to and affect every part of the body causing direct damage to organs as well as internal bleeding. This causes shock, which drops a person’s blood pressure and causes multisystem organ failure.
How were the two American patients brought to the U.S. safely?
The two Americans were evacuated out of Liberia in special planes equipped with the necessary medical equipment to sustain their health and keep them isolated. After the plane landed, they were taken in a similarly equipped ambulance to Emory University Hospital, which has a specially built isolation unit meant to treat patients who have been exposed to severe infectious diseases. For more details on their travel as well as photos, read TIME’s coverage of the travel here.
Why is it spreading so fast in Africa?
CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden has said that the health systems in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia are severely lacking in resources, and health care workers may not have access to adequate protective clothing. There’s also been some pushback against healthcare workers. Since Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia share a border, it’s easier for people to move from one country to another, and increasing the risk for disease spread.
How did the virus start anyway?
The natural reservoir for Ebola remains unknown, but researchers hypothesize that the first infected in an outbreak likely becomes infected through contact with an infected animal. Bats are thought to be a carrier of the virus.
I am terrified about an outbreak in the U.S. Am I overreacting?
Yes. The outbreak is happening in rural areas of developing countries. There’s a slim chance someone with Ebola could travel to the United States. If that happens, experts say that any hospital in the U.S. would be able to successfully isolate them. The CDC says there will not be a spread of the virus akin to what we have seen in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia because we have many ways to isolate a patient and treat their symptoms.

Unbelievable!! Meet The Woman With The Most Expensive Body In The World [PHOTOS]

One of the most famous transsexual fixtures on the New York party scene has opened about the plastic surgery that's behind her larger-than-life look.
Amanda Lepore, 46, reveals in a first person piece for Into The Gloss that after having a s*x change at the age of 19 she went about getting three breast augmentations, buttock implants and even had her bottom ribs broken she she could achieve a smaller waist.
'I think Raquel Welch and Cher did that, too,' she said of the unusual procedure, adding: 'It’s illegal in the U.S., but I had it done in Mexico. They break the floating rib in the back and push it in, so there's no scar.'
Following multiple nips and tucks, 5ft 2in Ms Lepore boasts a perfect hourglass figure measuring 38-22-38.
Facially she has had lip injections, fillers, Botox, a nose job, a forehead lift and her hairline lowered.
Her inspirations included Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe and Jessica Rabbit.
'Rather than emulate the girls I grew up with who made fun of me, I decided I wanted to look like a movie star. It was like an escape,' the dancer, singer and party host recalled.
Luckily no major alterations were required, as Ms Lepore said she had 'very girly features' to begin with and would often pass for a girl in her early teens.
Asked how much her cosmetic work has cost in total, the busty blonde declined to provide an answer, merely stating: 'There is a reason I am labeled ‘The Most Expensive Body On Earth’.
Perfect proportions: After having a sex change at the age of 19 the dancer, singer and party host invested in extreme plastic surgery
She says that her s*x change from male to female, was the most painful procedure she’s had done.
'It didn’t hurt when I got it done at the hospital,' she recounted.
'But they give you a dilator as part of the healing process, which you have to keep in for extended periods of time to stretch the vaginal opening.
'If I could have a crystal ball and see what I look like now - you know, modeling, hanging out with Daphne Guinness - I'd be like, "Wow, I can't believe this"
'It felt like a knife. It was the most painful thing I had ever experienced.'
In the late Eighties Ms Lepore moved from Cedar Grove, New Jersey, where she grew up, to New York.
She left behind her father, an Italian-American chemical engineer, and her mother, a German-American housewife who was schizophrenic and spent much time in mental institutions.
Although both found it difficult to accept their daughter's transgender identity at first - refusing to take her to ballet lessons and stopping her from growing her hair long - they eventually supported her transition.
Ms Lepore's father withdrew her from public school - where she was already isolated - hired a private tutor and even took her to a psychologist who helped her obtain a hormone prescription.
After moving to New York Ms Lepore established her career as a nightlife figure, partying at night and spending her days working in a nail salon, as a dominatrix, and later as a cosmetics salesgirl for Patricia Field.
'I really associate glamor with being happy. If you put on high heels and lipstick or get a new outfit, you feel great'
One evening while hosting at a bar in downtown Manhattan, she met celebrity photographer, David LaChapelle, and began collaborating with him.
It was this partnership which ultimately helped her to achieve international acclaim as his muse.
She has since appeared in fashion magazines, including French Playboy and Vogue, and scored cameos in music videos for artists including Elton John, The Dandy Warhols, and Grace Jones.
Looking back on her career success, Ms Lepore previously told Interview Magazine: 'When I was in the hospital getting my s*x change, I was just wishing I could be a pretty girl working in a mall.
'If I could have a crystal ball and see what I look like now - you know, modeling, David LaChapelle, hanging out with Daphne Guinness, singing with Lil' Kim, and traveling all over the world, I'd be like, "Wow, I can't believe this."
She is currently working on a new music album and getting her memoirs ready for publication.
When it comes to fashion, Ms Lepore says she likes tight-fitting clothing that shows off her 'tiny waist.'
And on the beauty front, she says she always does her hair and make-up herself because she's very particular about her look.
'I've had my boobs done and my bottom rib broken and pushed in - I think Raquel Welch and Cher did that, too'
She likes to use a combination of foundation, concealer. blush, powder, topped off with a carefully applied brush of bright lipstick.
'Once I put my make-up on, it really doesn’t move. If I’m traveling, sometimes I will sleep with it on so that I don’t have to do it again - I’ll get off a flight and do whatever I'm doing with it on.'
She has also been using a variety of creams to hide scars on her body after being involved in a car accident last year.
The charismatic performer concluded on her made up look: 'I really associate glamor with being happy. If you put on high heels and lipstick or get a new outfit, you feel great.
'It's a celebration of loving yourself, and the whole ritual of it is so great.'

Photos: Indian Conjoined Twins Who Are Worshipped As Gods

Conjoined twins Shivanath and Shivram Sahu were born in a tiny village near Raipur in central India.

Their birth caused quite a stir with some people in their village worshipping them as divine incarnations.

The boys who are now 12-year-olds were born joined at the waist. They share two legs and four arms and work in tandem to get around and they are determined to remain together. They are believed to share the same stomach but have independent lungs, hearts and brains.

Shivram said: “We don't wish to get separated. We will stay like this even when we grow old. We want to live as we are.”

The duo over time have learned how to do their chores themselves, including showering, eating, getting dressed and combing each other's hair. They are able to walk down the stairs of their simple split-level home and even run on all six limbs to play cricket and other games with neighbouring children.

They have stunned doctors with their ability to wash, dress and feed themselves.

They are also talented academics and considered among the top students at their local school and their father, Raj Kumar, 45 is very proud of them.

Raj, a labourer, who is married to Srimati has five daughters, and is very protective of his two sons and will not allow them to leave the village.

He said, "For everyone it is good fun to watch my children, but only I understand all the problems they have. During rainy season it becomes difficult for them to walk and when one wants to sit the other has to lie down. But they don't fight. They have similar opinions and if one says he wants to play the other one agrees.

"God has created them like this so they have to walk like they do. They will remain like this. I don't want anything else. Even if doctors say so, I won't get my children separated. I have no interest in money. I'm the one who will work hard to nourish them. I don't need any help."

The Exercises You Should Do Every Day

There are some exercises that you just can't get enough of. Three such examples: wall slides, thoracic rotations, and single-leg hip raises. You may not be familiar with these moves, but you should be doing them every day. The best part: You can do these no-weight, no-sweat exercises anywhere.

Exercise 1. Wall Slides
Stop what you're doing right now, and imagine that there's a string attached from the ceiling to your chest. Now imagine that the string is being tightened, pulling your chest closer towards the ceiling. If you were sitting with good posture, your chest wouldn't rise much. But if you're like most people, you just raised up a few inches. (You can also remind yourself to sit as tall as you can.) This is a good way to see how much you slump. And if you do, you should start doing an exercise called the wall slide immediately.

For best results, do 10 to 15 reps of this exercise up to three times a day. (It's easy to do in your office, and a great warmup before you lift weights.) Yes, it looks simple—and it is. But you'll love how good it makes your shoulders and upper back feel.

2. Hip Raises
It's not just slumping that hurts your posture. Simply sitting can be harmful, too. For instance, when you sit constantly—as most of us do—the muscles on the fronts of your hips become short and tight. What's more, your glutes—or butt muscles—actually forget how to contract. (Think about it: With so much chair time, they're not being used for much of anything except padding for your hipbones.) Now, the combination of tight muscles on the front of your hips and weak muscles on your backside causes your pelvis to tilt forward. This pushes your lower abdomen outward, making your belly pooch out—even if you don't have an ounce of fat. Worse, it also puts more stress on your lumbar spine, which can lead to low-back pain.

But the single-leg hip raise can help. It strengthens your glutes and teaches them how to contract again—which helps allow your pelvis to move back in its natural alignment. Do 5 to 6 reps for each leg, holding the top position of the exercise for 3 to 5 seconds.

3. Thoracic Rotation
Like wall slides, this is another great exercise for your upper body posture. Just look around your office: See anyone with a hunch in his upper back? (Make sure to take an honest look in the mirror, too.) Compare his posture to that of Superman. The difference should jump at you: Superman has his chest up and shoulders pulled back; your colleague is just the opposite. The reason is simple: Your muscles and connective tissue tend to "set" in the position your body is in the most often.

Now you can't fix 8 hours of slumping with just one exercise. But you can counteract some of the daily damage using thoracic rotation. This exercise helps "mobilize" your upper back by rotating at your thoracic spine. (That's where the name comes from.) This helps restore natural, healthy posture. It also feels really good! Do 10 reps on each side. Frequently.

Being a model is something I can do with eyes closed - Munachi Abii

Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria-turned-rapper, Munachi Abii, isn’t just another former beauty queen with a pretty face, she is a damsel who is in love with music and modelling.

*Muna
However, the drop-dead gorgeous lady told Showtime in a chat how she is coping with both. According to her, modelling is second nature to her while she is just trying to find her feet on the music scene.
“Being a model is something I can do with my eyes closed. But music is something I have to work on constantly.
I ask myself questions like: “What do I want people to hear? Do I want to give myself completely, or do I want to give a little bit or do a little bit of what everybody else is doing .It’s not hard to marry my being a model with being an artiste, one carries the other somehow some way.
When one goes down a little bit the other one takes control, either ways, music will always be a part of my life. I may not be all over the place but I will do music that people that loves my brand of music will enjoy,” she said

What it takes Maheeda to go nu de

This is the concluding part of our exclusive interview with the controversial singer, Maheeda who says s ex is like food to her. Read on…
By DAMILOLA SHOLOLA & KEHINDE AJOSE

What’s the difference between Maheeda and Caroline?
Caroline is a mother, a wife and a loving citizen of Nigeria. I’m God-fearing and I don’t mind how people see my lifestyle.
We saw you on BBM yesterday(last week), and you said; ‘There’s a Maheeda in me, there’s a Maheeda in you, there’s a Maheeda in everyone.’ Let’s start with the Maheeda in you?
The Maheeda in me! This is Caroline and sometimes, I change to something else. So, everybody has that moment where they just can’t see it. I was with a lady yesterday at Cool FM and immediately she sighted me, she changed into her bum shorts and high heels and started posing. To me, the Maheeda in her was coming out because seeing me already, I have influenced her dress sense. The urge to look s exy was irresistible in her. That’s the Maheeda in her and there should be a Maheeda in you too.
If you finally achieve your dream as a superstar, what else would you be longing for?
I don’t want to stop there. I really want to be like Oprah later
What kind of talk show would you do?
I want to anchor a Talk show that will allow people to be themselves. For instance, if your are addicted to alcohol, you would be able to come out and own up to your addiction. If you are also addicted to admiring married women, you should be able to confirm it. I really want to bring out the Maheeda in a lot of people and let’s see if they want to embrace or quit the Maheeda creation.
Are you addicted to s ex?
I love s ex, everybody is addicted to s ex. Why does everybody just think I’m the only one who loves s ex? If there’s no s ex, I won’t be normal. Everything will just be s exy to me
Do you think there’ll be a time when you’ll stop having s ex?
I don’t pray for that time. Even in my old age, I would like to have s ex
How do you deal with your critics?
They make me strong and what I am today. Five years ago, they dealt with me to the point that I had to cry. But that very moment actually made me strong. I faced a lot of challenges then and my man was by my side. He was trying to make me understand that this is the true nature of showbiz. I thought I was liked by people. Then, I couldn’t sing but now, I’m stronger.
How do you really make your money?
Basically, from shows and modeling. I’ve been doing a lot of shows especially abroad.
What is your greatest fear as a person?
Leaving this world without really touching lives in a positive way.
Do you think you’re a role model?
I don’t know but what is role model? I think people see role model as somebody that is perfect. But I don’t think so. I think it’s someone whom people learn from his or her mistakes.
When you’re doing your shows, do you go nu de on stage?
It depends on how much I am paid for the show. The list is there, do you want Maheeda to go nu de on stage? This is your price. The same thing goes to anyone that wants me to go nu de in his musical video.
Supposing I want to do a show in Nigeria, and I expect you to expose everything?
You have to pay heavily for it. If you want Maheeda to go nu de in your show, it would cost you a lot of money. Do you know how many people that would attend the show? No doubt, you will recoup your money.
If someone insists on private show?
That person would have to pay me. We are talking about business here. I will give the person enough private show.
Have you ever done that before?
Yes, that was in Europe. It was at a birthday party organised by some big shots. I love my job, it was a big thing.
They had to touch you?
No, my job was to strike s exy poses with all those s exy bikinis. It was big money.
A lot of artists use drugs to enhance their stagecraft. Do you use drugs for your shows?
I am naturally high. I don’t use drugs. I’ve seen what drugs did to a lot of my friends back then in Port Harcourt, so, I vowed I’ll never take it
What is that part of your body that you always like to show off?
I like to show off my ass
But you don’t show your breasts?
Oh really? Don’t worry when they pay, I’ll show them. I need that one to make money. Like Rihanna, she recently showed off her boobs. You don’t know how much she was paid to do so. Otherwise, you need to save some kind of things to make good money.
What do you think about the comparison between you and Afrocandy?
I love my people because they are bored and they know how to be entertained themselves. They can even entertain themselves without me and Afrocandy saying anything.
You are very active on social media?
Like I said, I love my people a lot, and I enjoy talking to my fans.
There was a time you were banned on Instagram and you had to open another profile. How did you feel when you woke up that morning?
First, I was really sad. This is because the picture I posted then, I was somewhat dialoguing with my spirit whether to upload the picture or not.
What was the picture like?
One with a guy who was masturbating with my picture on the laptop. I thought it was classic. I was very proud of it and that was why I uploaded it . But I was very sad because I had to start all over again.
Have you ever been heartbroken?
Yes, I have. I actually left the guy.
Why did you leave him?
He didn’t have money. I broke his heart but my heart was broken too.
Why do you think good girls go bad?
Experience, what has happened to them in the past. I’m talking from my own personal experience.
You say you’re passionate about your country but your actions did not portray so?
It’s always like that. You can’t even know people who are really passionate about this country. Whether we like it or not, we are learning from the outside world. So, that’s just how it is.
Among the female singers, who do you have a lot respect for?
Waje. I respect Waje a lot and I like her person. I met her in a studio, we ate together and worked together. She’s really a wonderful person.
Mention one female artiste that you would love to work with?
For collabo, I would like to work with Seyi Shay or Tiwa Savage. I love their voices, they are superb and my male fans would love them. So, I long to work with people who are appreciated across board.
Who is your celebrity crush in Nigeria?
Phyno. His s exy eyes turn me on.
How about Olamide?
I just wanted to say Baddo. I want to see how bad he is
